Historically, Democrats better on Economy
A great piece was put out today by Brad Delong on his blog describing graphically how much better Democratic Administrations have been to this country’s Economy. From Roosevelt to Kennedy to Clinton all had tremendous GDP growth while Bush Sr. and Bush Jr. are way at the bottom. This makes one wonder, which party is supposed to be the fiscally conservative one? Is it the one who’s been in control over the past 8 years and presided over the largest increase in government since the New Deal after the depression? The one who created the largest bureaucracy and did not enforce much needed regulation that has brought us to this mess we are now in?
Take a look at Administrations and GDP:

Take a look at deficit turnaround:

And lastly, let’s look at employment:

So in conclusion, when you go to vote in November and you’re worrying about the economy, remember the above Democratic Administrations when you pull that lever.
